Sharpening Questions & Answers

Q:  Does Jordan's Band Saw Service sell Timber Wolf bandsaw blades?

A:  No, we do not sell Timber Wolf bandsaw blades. We are only an authorized sharpening center for Suffolk Machine Corp. However, you can order them here.

 

Q:  How long does it take to get my blades back after shipping them?

A:  Blades are usually sharpened within two days of receiving them.  Courier service will add additional time, check out the UPS website for approximate arrival times. Large Amounts of bandsaw blades take longer but we will ship an initial set to you so you can keep sawing if you request this.

 

Q:  What does pitch mean?

A:  Pitch is the distance between the teeth from tip to tip. We can only sharpen bandsaw blades from 3/4" to 1" pitch.

 

Q:  Do you sharpen anything else besides Sawmill bandsaw blades?

A:  Our specialty is in Bandsaw Sawmills such as Wood-Mizer and we do not sharpen other forms of bandsaw blades.

Q:  What type of things can you recommend to help keep my bandsaw blades sharp?

A:  There are a number of things you can do to keep your blades sharper longer.  Always brush away mud and other debris from you logs.  Also we recommend getting a debarker to clear away dirt and bark from your sawmill.

 

Q:  What is a debarker?

A:  Like its namesake it clears away bark but it will also clear away other unwanted materials so your bandsaw blades only cut the wood.  Click here for a picture of a debarker.
